A sufficient sacrifice and a living Priest

“For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”Hebrews 10:14 · KJV

Read in your Bible: Hebrews 7–10.

Hebrews contrasts the repeated sacrifices of the old sanctuary with Christ's once-for-all offering and continuing heavenly ministry. His work opens a new and living way to God. The passage then calls believers to draw near, hold hope and encourage one another.

Christ does not need repeated sacrifice to make His saving gift sufficient. Adventists understand His heavenly ministry and judgment in the light of that completed cross, never as a rival payment. Confidence in Him should deepen grateful obedience and mutual encouragement rather than anxious speculation about whether He wants to save.

Receive Christ's sufficient sacrifice with thanks. Encourage a fellow believer through a clear promise and practical care. If sanctuary study has become fearful, return to Hebrews' emphasis on His character, effective offering and invitation to draw near.
