A dwelling among the people

“And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.”Exodus 25:8 · KJV

Read in your Bible: Exodus 25–26.

God instructs Moses concerning the sanctuary and its furnishings. The invitation is striking: the Lord desires to dwell among His people. Materials, dimensions and patterns belong to a worship life God orders rather than to a monument Israel invents.

The sanctuary teaches approach to a holy God through the means He provides. Christians study its services in the light of Jesus' sacrifice and heavenly ministry. The symbols point beyond themselves; they are not magical objects or replacements for the living Saviour.

Make space for attentive worship without imagining that a building or ritual can substitute for surrender. Ask whether what you bring to God reflects care, gratitude and a willingness to follow His revealed direction.
