A way of holiness

“And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.”Isaiah 35:8 · KJV

Read in your Bible: Isaiah 32–36.

Promises of righteous rule and a renewed land contrast with judgment and the later Assyrian threat. Isaiah 35 pictures joy, healing and a highway for the redeemed. Its hope reaches beyond the damaged conditions the people currently experience.

The restoration vision testifies to God's final purpose; it does not authorise a guarantee that every disability or illness will disappear now. People living with such conditions retain full dignity in the present. Hope should make the community more welcoming and accessible while it awaits complete renewal.

Notice one barrier that makes shared life harder for someone with a disability or illness. Ask what change would actually help rather than assuming their needs. Let the future promise inspire present inclusion and practical care.

A question to sit with

What barrier could I help remove instead of offering only words about a better future?

AN EVERYDAY ACT OF LOVE

Make one practical accessibility improvement after listening to a person affected by the barrier.

Let us pray

Restoring God, thank You for the future You promise. Help us honour every person's dignity now, remove avoidable barriers and offer care that does not depend on a promise of immediate healing. Amen.
