Seek Him in ordinary years

“Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.”2 Chronicles 15:7 · KJV

Read in your Bible: 2 Chronicles 12–15.

The reigns of Rehoboam, Abijah and Asa show changing responses to God amid political and military pressure. Asa receives encouragement to be strong and continue the work of reform. Seeking the Lord must become more than a response to a single emergency.

Growth requires continuing attention after an urgent moment has passed. A hopeful word does not remove the need for patient action or guarantee an uncomplicated future. The narrative invites perseverance in turning from wrong and strengthening what supports faithful community life.

Choose one reform that needs steady continuation rather than another dramatic beginning. Give it a realistic place in your week. Encourage someone whose quiet persistence is easy to overlook because it lacks the excitement of a new initiative.
